PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting type male terminal capable of balancing an insertion force reducing effect with connection reliability, and formed by applying a plating process thereto. SOLUTION: In tin-plated layers formed on surfaces of a tab of this fitting type male terminal 1 where insertion and extraction marks 4 are formed on the surfaces of the tab 2a by bringing into elastic contact with the surfaces of the flat plate-shaped tab 2a of the fitting type male terminal 2 projecting parts 1b and 1d formed so as to sandwich the tab 2a in a fitting part 1a of the fitting type female terminal 1, a plating thickness in the vicinity of a connection mark 3 at the end of each insertion and extraction mark 4 is formed by surface treatment larger than that of at least a part where the insertion and extraction mark 4 is formed.
