PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transcript type printer including a two-step gear consisting of a major diametric gear portion and a minor diametric gear portion formed consolidatedly, capable of preventing the minor diametric gear portion from inclining without using a metal shaft even in case the two-step gear is formed as a molding from synthetic resin and thereby enhancing the stability in changing-over of the operation mode. SOLUTION: A gear unit 5 is installed on the outside of the side plate part 12 of a chassis 1, and the minor diametric gear 55 included in the gear train 6 of the gear unit 5 is protruded inward from an opening 13 in the side plate part 12 and meshed with a cam gear 9 for changing-over of the operation mode. The minor diametric gear 55 and the major diametric gear 56 are formed in a single piece with a rod part 51, and the outer shaft portion 52 and inner shaft portion 53 of the rod part 51 are supported slidably by an inner 81 and an outer bearing hole 82 formed in the outer frame 5A of the gear unit 5. The sliding surfaces 54a and 54b of the rod part 51 are abutted to the outer frame 5A so as to hinder the rod part 51 from displacement in the axial direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
