PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic boom of such constitution that penetration of foreign matter or a bird from an opening part of an inner boom can be prevented. SOLUTION: On a tip of the inner boom 10, a work table 11 or a work tool is installed to be rotatable by a hydraulic cylinder 15 that is inserted into the inner boom 10. On a tip of the inner boom 10, a cap 21 of rubber is provided to prevent penetration of foreign matter or a bird from a gap between an inner wall of the inner boom 10 and the hydraulic cylinder 15. The cap 21 comprises a rubber plate, with a cut provided on the contact side of it with the hydraulic cylinder. Even in a case where a work machine is parked with the telescopic boom raised, penetration of a bird is prevented by means of the cap.
