PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented film which is excellent in transparency, dimensional stability, and scratch resistance and especially suitable for optical applications. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented film mainly composed of a polyester (A), a polyimide (B), and two kinds of particles a and particles b which are different in average particle size has a total light transmittance of at least 80% and a haze value of 2% or below.
