PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated film, wherein a coating layer is provided on a cellulose ester film being a support, improved in physical characteristics capable of suppressing the appearance abnormality such as distortion, streak-like trouble or the like of a polarizing plate when the polarizing plate of a liquid crystal display device (LCD) is manufactured, a protective film for the polarizing plate, a combination of the protective film for the polarizing plate, and the polarizing plate using the protective film for the polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The coated film, wherein the coating layer is provided on the cellulose ester film being the support, is characterized in that, when the film is dimensionally changed by the irradiation with heat, an irradiation condition is set so that temperature is 80°C, humidity is 90% RH, an irradiation time is 50 hr, the dimensional change ratio in the parallel direction (longitudinal direction) with respect to the film forming direction of the coated film is 0-0.40% and the dimensional change ratio in the vertical direction (lateral direction) with respect to the film forming direction of the coated film is 0-0.20%. The protective film for the polarizing plate is constituted of the coated film and the combination of the protective film for the polarizing plate is constituted of the protective film for the polarizing plate comprising the cellulose ester film and the protective film for the polarizing plate comprising the coated film.
