A system for controlling copying including at least one physical support including a recording of digital data, a computer that reads and duplicates the physical support, and recordable duplication supports, wherein a format for recording information on the physical support is determined in such a manner as to inhibit duplication functionalities of the computer, and a device for modifying the computer to permit a conditional duplication of the physical supports such that duplication produces a recording different from an original recording that cannot be duplicated.
