A bracket is provided for receiving a panel. The bracket has a first part for securing to a structure to be protected such as a window of a building or automobile. A second part is connected to the first part in a form-fitting manner. The first and second parts define a chamber there-between for receiving and securing the panel in the chamber and thus to the structure. Ideally, the panel is a bullet-resistant panel.
