<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver having a function for controlling voltage applied to an APD (Avalanche Photo Diode) according to the optical intensity of an inputted optical signal arbitrarily or constantly. <P>SOLUTION: The optical receiver comprises an APD 1 for outputting current corresponding to an input optical intensity, a front end amplifier circuit 6 for conducting amplification / voltage translation on the output current from the APD 1, a high voltage generating circuit 2 for applying high voltage to the APD 1, a low pass filter 5 for eliminating noise from the output voltage of the high voltage generating circuit 2, a current detecting circuit 7 for detecting current flowing to the APD 1, and a control circuit 8 for controlling the output voltage of the high voltage generating circuit 2 based on a current value detected by the current detecting circuit 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
