<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and control method of fuel cell which quickly start external output even just after the start of operation and thereby improve starting property. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 1 is made to start power generation by supplying fuel gas to an anode 1b of the fuel cell 1 and by supplying oxidant gas to a cathode 1c of the fuel cell 1 as well, when starting the operation of the fuel cell 1. The fuel gas exhausted outward from the anode 1b is diluted by the oxidant gas exhausted outward from the cathode 1c. A flow volume of the oxidant gas, from the start to the finish of the fuel gas exhaust from the anode 1c, necessary for diluting the fuel gas, and that necessary for the external output calculated on the base of power value requested to the fuel cell are calculated respectively. The flow volume necessary for dilution is compared with that necessary for the external output, and the fuel cell is controlled by setting the larger flow volume as the flow volume of the oxidant gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
