<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which has excellent mechanical characteristics and flame retardancy required for electric wires, can be colored in an arbitrary color, is inexpensive, has excellent resistance to external damage, water resistance, and acid resistance, and is free from the elusion of heavy metal compounds and phosphorous compounds due to filling in land when scrapped, the production of a large volume of smoke or a corrosive gas due to combustion, and the like, and to provide an insulated electric wire and an insulated cable each using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: This flame retardant resin composition is characterized by comprising an ethylenic copolymer used as a main base material, a metal hydrate treated with a silane coupling agent having a specific functional group, and heavy calcium bicarbonate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
