PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, system, and product for copying a storage. SOLUTION: Copying operation is carried out on a source source device for copying to a target storage device. In this copying operation, a consistent copy of the source storage device is prepared on the target storage device. While copying operation for copying from one source storage device to one target storage device is performed, writing operation is restricted not to be performed on the one source storage device until the copying operation on the source storage device is completed.
