PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the burden of imparting keywords to an image database. SOLUTION: Similar image data which are similar to object image data to which a keyword is to be added are retrieved and extracted (S402). Then a keyword imparted to the retrieved and extracted similar image data is added to the object image data (S404). When the keyword of the similar image data similar to the object image data is diverted to the keyword of the object image data, candidates for imparting can be narrowed down to comparatively related keywords, so that the burden of imparting keywords is lightened.
