PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber tape unit with which a coated optical fiber tape is hardly disconnected to respective optical fibers and can be easily branched, plural sheets of coated optical fiber tapes are connected and the live-line branching can be easily performed. SOLUTION: The optical fiber tape unit is made by arranging the plural sheets of coated optical fiber tapes 1, which are made by arranging a plurality of the optical fibers 3 in parallel and integrating the optical fibers 3 over the whole length with resin 4, in parallel and connecting the coated optical fiber tapes 1 with a connecting resin 2. The coated optical fiber tapes 1 are satisfied by the following relation: T<SB>1</SB>≤d+40 (μm), wherein the maximum value of the thickness of the coated optical fiber tapes 1 is T<SB>1</SB>(μm) and an outer diameter of the optical fiber is d (μm).
