摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display with low production cost by which a uniform gap can be formed between substrates. SOLUTION: A sealing material 2 is formed on a glass substrate 1, and virtual points 4 are arranged in a matrix in a region 3 surrounded by the sealing material 2. Straight lines 5, 6 are assumed by connecting the virtual points 4 on the outermost line and the second line from the outside, respectively. Then a straight line 7 at an equal distance from the lines 5, 6 is assumed. The position of virtual points 4 are determined in such a manner that the average density of the virtual points 4 in the four end line regions 12 is about 0.9 to 1.1 times of the density of the virtual points 4 in the whole region 3 and that the average density of the virtual points 4 in the four corner regions 13 is 0.83 to 1.17 times of the density of the virtual points 4 in the whole region 3. The virtual points 4 are increased or decreased if necessary based on the height of a spacer. Then a liquid crystal 8 is dropped onto each virtual point 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
