PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain tinsel so designed that even if a fabric made by weaving the tinsel and synthetic fiber such as of polyester together is dyed with a disperse dye at high temperatures and pressures, only the synthetic fiber is dyed while the tinsel itself is not, thus both hue and metallic gloss inherent in the tinsel can be sustained. SOLUTION: The tinsel is obtained by microslitting a vapor deposition film that is made by laminating plastic film as the substrate with at least metallized layer with a metal or metal oxide deposited and protective layer comprising a silicone resin having polysilane skeleton and/or polysiloxane skeleton; wherein, the protective layer is situated on the outermost layer of one side or both sides of the vapor deposition film.
