Disclosed is a use of a neuromuscular toxin in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of abnormalities of the first metatarsophalangeal joint of the foot of a mammal. Preferred embodiments include use of toxins capable of interfering with the connection between muscle and nerve, e.g. botulinum toxin, in the preparation of medicaments to treat such abnormalities as hallux abductovalgus, hallux varus, hallux limitus, and hallux rigidus. |
