<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging method which enables an image to be developed aboard the machine without performing a development process and can make available a large number of pieces of printed matter at a practical energy level, and a lithographic printing method. <P>SOLUTION: This imaging method is to form an image on an original plate of a lithographic printing plate with an image recording layer which contains (A) an infrared absorbent, (B) a polymerization initiator, (C) a polymerizable compound and (D) a hydrophobic binder polymer and can be removed by a printing ink or a damping water. The method comprises an image exposure process to form an image in the image recording layer of the original plate of the lithographic printing plate, by scanning the original plate to expose it to an infrared beam and a heating process to heat a heating region including an optional exposure region, to be irradiated with the infrared beam, of the image recording layer, to a specified heating temperature at least during exposure, when the original plate is exposed to the infrared beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
