<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric substance for an ozonizer which can effectively elicit catalytic gas effect without disturbing the advantage of an alumina substrate by using a highly cleaned alumina substrate which is hard and chemically strong for the dielectric substance used for a discharge cell for a discharge type ozonizer, using a high purity gaseous oxygen as a raw material gas, effectively increasing the concentration of ozone by adding a catalytic gas into the gaseous oxygen and keeping the cleanliness of the substrate. <P>SOLUTION: Titanium oxide is incorporated by 0.006-6 wt.% as a Ti element into the alumina substrate having ≥80% purity. The titanium oxide content corresponds to 0.01-10 wt.% TiO<SB>2</SB>powder in the mixing ratio in a substrate manufacturing stage. The addition effect of the catalytic gas is sufficiently elicited with a small quantity of titanium oxide by dispersing and mixing titanium oxide into the alumina substrate. A certain quantity of SiO<SB>2</SB>(silica), CaO (calcia), MgO (magnesia) and the like are incorporated as assistant raw materials. Chromium oxide such as Cr<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is controlled to ≤3% as Cr element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
