<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium handling device capable of applying a proper handling to the medium which may appear in various forms. <P>SOLUTION: The medium handling conditions are set in conformity to the sensing signal given by a medium information sensing means 1 to sense the information of the medium to be handled by a handling condition setting means 2.
