<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably retain the mounting state such that a pillar garnish is not removed and scattered from a pillar inner panel upon deployment of the curtain type air bag and to perform removal by simple operation with a simple constitution when necessary. <P>SOLUTION: In the pillar garnish mounting structure for the automobile, the curtain type air bag covering the air bag from an indoor side to the pillar inner panel (inner panel) is built-in. A clip 40 attached to the pillar garnish (garnish) 30 is integrally formed. Further, the clip 40 has a movable member 43 contractable and elastically deformable accompanying with insertion operation of the clip 40. An engagement portion 46 elastically engageable with a mounting hole 22 accompanying with the insertion operation and an attachment portion 47 attachable to the garnish 30 are provided.
