<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that efficiently obtain an image of high resolution from a plurality of low-resolution images, and a resolution improving method for an image. <P>SOLUTION: An optical system 101 forms an optical image on an imager 102, and converts the image into an image signal by spatially dispersing the image, and then a band separation processing section 105 separates the signal into a high-frequency component and a low-frequency component. A super-resolution target frame selection section 106 selects a frame as an object of super-resolution processing among separated low-frequency component images and sends it to an interpolative enlargement processing section 109. The super-resolution processing is performed by an estimation section 107 for motion and a high-resolution image estimation section 108 estimating image data of a pixel array of high resolution. A high-resolution image operation area decision part 112 decides an area as an object of high-resolution image estimating operation in the image and the output of the high-resolution image estimation operation section 108 is sent to a composing operation processing section 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
