<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network units which are easily managed even in the case of automatic tunnels, for exchanging protocol data units through tunnels. <P>SOLUTION: Network units 1, 2, 3 for exchanging protocol data units through tunnels 7, 8, 9 comprise detectors 11, 21, 31 for detecting indications in protocol data units, associators 12, 22, 32 for associating tunnels to the indications, and managers 13, 23, 33 for managing the tunnels 7, 8, 9.
