PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption for driving display and to stabilize display operation, in a power source unit for driving a matrix type liquid crystal display device that is driven AC-wise. SOLUTION: The power source unit for driving liquid crystal display device is equipped with a plurality of buffer circuits B0-B2 for generating a plurality of voltages V0-V2 on the high voltage side and a plurality of buffer circuits B3, B4 for generating a plurality of voltages V3, V4 on the low voltage side. It is further equipped with a second and a third voltage converting circuit CHP 2, CHP 3 that boost a power source voltage Vcc to generate the second and the third output power source voltage Vout 2, Vout 3, and equipped with a first voltage converting circuit CHP 1 that boosts the second output power source voltage Vout 2 to output a prescribed first output power source voltage Vout 1.
