PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience at the time of the execution of an image retrieval to image storage media which can remove and switch from an image recording device. SOLUTION: In an image recording device, when a plurality of storage media 103a-103c are sequentially switched which can be removed from the image recording device and an image retrieval is performed, image data 109 retrieved and extracted are accumulatively stored and held in an installed recording medium 108 installed in the image recording device until a delete is explicitly instructed, even if the removable image storage medium 103a is removed from the image recording device, or is exchanged with the other removable image storage medium 103c.
