PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition control device of an internal combustion engine capable of surely restraining promotion of reverse rotation of the engine by stopping power supply to an ignition coil in the optimal timing. SOLUTION: An electronic control device 50 detects the reverse rotation of a petrol engine 1, and stops the power supply to the ignition coil 48 when detecting the reverse rotation. Furthermore, the device determines whether or not to stop its power supply on the basis of a position of a piston 5 of the petrol engine 1 when the power supply is already started to the ignition coil 48 when detecting the reverse rotation.
