PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a case for a communication device facilitating cover body closing work by closing a cover body without needing to put a cylinder lock in unlocking operation. SOLUTION: This case for the communication device is provided with a case body 23; the cover body 24 constituted to be openable and closable to the case body 23; the cylinder lock 50 put in locking and unlocking operation; a hook plate 55 moved into a release position P2 interlocked with the unlocking operation of the cylinder lock 50; a fastener 52 not engaged with the hook plate 55 in the release position P2 but engaged with the hook plate 55 in a latching position P1 to inhibit the opening of the cover body 24 closed on the case body 23; a pull spring for energizing the hook plate 55 located in the latching position P1; and a retreat mechanism 75 for moving the hook plate 55 from the latching position P1 to the release position P2 against the energizing force of the pull spring and then returning the hook plate 55 from the release position P2 to the latching position P1 by the energizing force of the pull spring to engage the fastener 52 with the hook plate 55 when closing the cover body 24 on the case body 23.
