PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jig and a connection method capable of safely, quickly and efficiently carrying out connection work when bolt connection between both steel frames is made through a splice plate. SOLUTION: The jig 1 is equipped with a pair of shaft bodies 2, a connecting body 6a connecting between the rear end sections of a pair of shaft bodies 2 and locking means 3 interlocking with the front end sections of the shaft bodies 2 in a detachable manner, the shaft bodies 2 have cross sections capable of being inserted in bolt holes in the steel frames, etc., and the locking means 3 are interlocked with the front end sections of the shaft bodies 2 to movably and safely support the splice plate to the sides of the steel frames through a pair of shaft bodies 2.
