SHARPS CONTAINER FOR USED PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLIES

An illustrative sharps container for (i) safe transportation and dispensing of a large number of unused pen needle assemblies, and (ii) safe storage of used pen needle assemblies. The sharps container for pen needle assemblies may include a receptacle and a movable means. In some cases, the illustrative container may also include a cover member. The manually movable means may be rotatably positioned on the cover and may have portions collectively forming a cup-like means for receiving a used pen needle assembly when the movable means may be in an open position. When the movable means may be in a closed position, the used pen needle assembly may be transferred by gravity to the bottom of the receptacle. The unused pen needle assemblies may be connected to a flexible tape and may be removed from a storage receptacle via an opening in the receptacle.
