OPTICAL ELEMENT MADE OF PLASTIC, AND OPTICAL PICKUP APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an optical element made of plastic provided with optical characteristics of high accuracy and to provide an optical pickup apparatus having satisfactory pickup characteristics.

SOLUTION: The optical element made of plastic used for the optical pickup apparatus performing reproduction or recording of information to an optical information recording medium by using light emitted from a light source is formed by forming a resin composition containing a polymer having an alicyclic structure and 0.01 to 20 part by weight of at least one hindered amine light resistant stabilizer composition having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 1,000 to 10,000 measured by a gel permeation chromatography to the polymer of 100 pts. wt. and having 20 to 60 g/10 m melt index (MI) at 260°C with 2.16 kg load and has an optical path difference imparting structure imparting a predetermined optical path difference to prescribed light passing through at least one optical surface at the optical surface.
