<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up print processing by making a transfer start position of a sheet accurately coincide with the exposure start position of a drum. <P>SOLUTION: After a skew of a sheet 2 as a recording medium is corrected by correcting a sheet curve by resist rollers 5a and 5b, exposure writing on a photosensitive drum 8 of an imaging mechanism part is started synchronously with re-driving of resist rollers 5a and 5b. When a sheet front edge of a form 2 is detected by a 2nd sensor 7 as a medium detecting means, sheet conveyance is continued while adjusting a sheet conveying speed when an exposure start position reaches a transfer position at a pressure contact point P between the drum 8 and a transfer roller 12, thereby adjusting the time of arrival at the transfer position at the pressure contact point P. A time/distance interval between the preceding and subsequent sheets 2 is shortened, a conveying path is shortened, and the whole apparatus is miniaturized.
