<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a user interface suitable for erasing data in a storage, and to provide a data erasing method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprising hardware resources for use in image formation processing, and a program for executing a process concerning image formation is further provided with a mode determination means for determining whether the image forming apparatus is actuated in a mode for erasing data stored in a storage means or in a mode for actuating normally, a means for actuating the process depending on the determination result of the mode determination means and data concerning setting, a means for erasing data stored in the storage means when the image forming apparatus is actuated in the erasing mode, and a means for outputting information related to the erasure of data stored in the storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
