<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both image quality and usability regardless of an image type. <P>SOLUTION: When printing is requested, determination is made whether output data is image data or text data (S2). The output data is determined to be the image data when the area of an image is equal to or above a threshold as a result of determination from a ratio between the area of an image section calculated from a dot counter and the area of the image calculated from the area of paper outputted. When the output image is the image data, a sheet counter determines whether the count of the output sheets after the previous process control is greater than the threshold of the number of sheets corresponding to the image data (S3). When the count is greater than that, a process control is executed (S4).
