<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for HID (high intensity discharge) lamp capable of efficiently recovering mercury and a glass from the HID lamp used without polluting environment. <P>SOLUTION: An outer pipe bulb 2 of the HID lamp 1 is cut near a base 3 and is removed from the HID lamp. Then, a luminous pipe 5 is removed from a mount 4 of HID lamp removed with the outer pipe bulb and the HID lamp is sorted and recovered to three parts of the outer pipe bulb part 9; the luminous pipe part 11; and a base/mount part 12 comprising a mount part and a base part removed with the luminous pipe. The sorted/recovered three parts are treated by different methods respectively, a glass cullet 26 is recovered from the outer pipe bulb part, the mercury 16 is recovered from the luminous pipe part and aluminum 20 is recovered from the base/mount part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
