MULTI-MEDIA REPRODUCING DEVICE AND MENU SCREEN DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the convenience of a user in multi-media reproduction via a network.

SOLUTION: A functional icon array 70 which is composed of a plurality of functional icons showing the kinds of reproducing functions, and a content icon array 72 which is composed of a plurality of content icons showing the items of the reproducible contents, are displayed in a shape that both of them are crossed with each other at the nearly central part of the menu screen 50. A moving image icon 56 as a functional icon displayed in a crossing region 76 where the functional icon array 70 and the content icon array 72 cross with each other is enlarged and displayed with a color different from the colors of the other functional icons. A noted icon 64 immediately beneath the moving image icon 56 is also enlarged and displayed. When external equipment is connected via a network, the contents in the external equipment are also displayed to the content icon array 72.
