PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a short circuit from being generated between a negative electrode terminal and the upper end of the opening of a positive electrode can, in a coin-shaped battery with the negative electrode terminal. SOLUTION: A gasket 3 is a molding made of an elastic material which is provided with a ring-shaped base 21 and a cylindrical wall 22 extended upward from the outer fringe of the base 21 and held between the periphery side walls 12, 15 of positive and negative electrode cans 5, 6. A cover 40 to cover the upper end 12a of the opening of the periphery side wall 12 of the positive electrode can 5 is formed by being stretched it outward at the upper end of the cylindrical wall 22.
