PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dimensional specification noncompliance due to bulge after assemblage and to suppress degradation of electric characteristics without impairing solution leakage resistance by properly setting shapes of a case and a gasket, in a flat electrochemical element. SOLUTION: The shapes of the case 1 and the gasket 3 are so specified that the inside diameter D1 of the case 1 and the outside diameter D2 of the gasket 3 satisfy a relationship of (D1-D2)/2≤0.1 mm; and the chamfering dimension C1 in the vertical direction and the chamfering dimension C2 in the radial direction with respect to the inside curvature radius R1 of a side face rise part of the case 1 and the bottom face part of the outside wall rise part of the gasket 3 satisfy relationships of R1≤C1≤2×R1 and R1≤C2≤2×R1.
