PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrophoretic particles whose high speed response is made possible under a condition of low voltage driving and to provide an electrophoresis display element using the same. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic particles having particles having an acidic group and any one compound represented by general formulae (1) to (3) is characterized in that the acidic group and any one compound represented by general formulae (1) to (3) form a salt. Wherein, n denotes an integer of 2 to 6, n<SP>1</SP>denotes an integer of 1 to 4, R<SB>1</SB>denotes a 1-18C straight or branched alkyl group, m, m<SP>1</SP>and m<SP>2</SP>each denotes an integer of 1 to 3 and a 3-18C straight or branched alkyl group may be substituted for hydrogen atoms of methylene groups which constitute a ring.
