PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner or paper dust from attaching on a temperature sensor, in a temperature detector for detecting the temperature of an object member to be detected, using a noncontact temperature detector element. SOLUTION: A cylindrical cover is arranged between the detection object member and the temperature detector element, wherein the length of the cylinder L1 and an internal diameter of the cylinder L2 are set so as to satisfy the condition 4×L2≤L1≤40×L2.
