The invention relates to a method for printing details onto a document (21), especially a passport, which comprises the following steps: a) detecting, by means of a first camera (50), two intersecting edges (28, 29) of the document (21); b) calculating the position of a first field (20) of the document (21) to be imprinted with a first detail using the position of the detected edges (28, 29); c) positioning a print head (45) on the first field (20) to be imprinted and printing the first detail; d) detecting, by means of a second camera (49), a graphic element in the document (21); e) calculating the position of a second field to be imprinted using the position of the detected graphic element; f) positioning the print head (45) on the second field to be imprinted and printing the second detail. |
