The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one glycogen synthase kinase 3B(GSK-3B) inhibitor, at least one Rho-kinase inhibitor, and an optional adequate pharmaceutical carrier for producing a medicament used for the preventive or therapeutic treatment of bacterial infectious diseases including sepsis by synergistically increasing synthesis and secretion of type IIA secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2-IIA) into the bloodstream so as to boost the body's inherent resistance to infections. The invention relates to the field of medicine, particularly the prevention and therapy of bacterial infectious diseases, especially infectious diseases caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, including sepsis. Using the inventive pharmaceutical composition or the inventive combination provides the body with efficient resistance against bacterial pathogens, above all Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus by inducing optimal synthesis and secretion of secretory phospholipase A2-IIA (sPLA2-IIA) into the bloodstream. The combination of substances which block different signal transduction paths has synergistic effects, allowing for substantially greater stimulation of sPLA2-IIA synthesis and secretion while keeping the concentrations of administered substances lower than if the individual substances were used, thus reducing the risk of potential side effects in a correspondingly advantageous manner.
