Edge detection method for detecting an edge (3) of a workpiece by consideration of local brightness ratios in an image of a test area (4) along a search line (5) recorded with a camera sensor. According to the method a histogram and a gray value profile along the search line are used as start data for the edge detection. Along the test line, which is displaced along the search line, it is checked whether certain brightness inequalities and equations are fulfilled or not in order to define the edge position. |
