<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly precise object detection/tracking device also in consideration of reliability of an identification result at the initial stage of tracking. <P>SOLUTION: The object detection/tracking device is constituted so that summation of identification values at the initial stage of tracking is calculated and the summation of identification values is reflected on identification results after that. Namely, whether or not image data of a candidate region coincides with an object is judged and total judgment in consideration of the reliability is performed using identification values of each frame at the initial stage of tracking indicating the reliability as a numeric value. Specifically, whether or not the image data in the candidate region coincides with the object is judged by whether a sign of the summation of identification values at the initial stage of tracking is positive or negative. Thus, highly precise detection of the object in consideration of the reliability is performed while minimizing increase of calculation costs required for judging whether or not the image data of the candidate region coincides with the object in comparison with total judgment by vote. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
