<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device excellent in a sealing property and maintaining superb display performance as well as a manufacturing method of the display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with: an effective part 106 provided with a plurality of display elements for image display; and a sealing body 300 arranged so as to cover at least the effective part 106 of the substrate main face 100A. The sealing body 300 has a structure of laminating at least two buffer layers 311, 312, and barrier layers 320, 321, 322 with larger patterns than the buffer layers 311, 312 and covering each buffer layer 311, 312, of which, the first buffer layer 311 has a pattern of a different size from the second buffer layer 312 arranged at its upper layer.
