<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize low power consumption of a light source by efficiently guiding light from a light source to exit in a prescribed direction. <P>SOLUTION: The light from a light source 7 is made to enter an entrance part 4 of a light guide plate 1, and the incident light is reflected on a reflecting part 2 to exit from a light emitting part 6 on the surface of the light guide plate 1. The light from the light source 7 is partially reflected downward on a reflecting face 5 disposed in the light guide part between a level difference part 3 and the entrance part 4, does not transmit the plate but reaches the reflecting part 2, and is reflected on the reflecting part 2 to exit from a light emitting part 6.
