<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device for wavelength conversion by which a generally broad color temperature of 2,000 K to 8,000 K or 10,000 K is obtained, and a color rendering index is also higher as 90 or more. <P>SOLUTION: Electrode patterns 5 are formed at ends of both sides of a substrate 1 respectively, a light emitting element 6 which emits primary light is fitted on the electrode pattern 5 at its one side through a conductive adhesive 9, and an electrode of the light emitting element 6 and the electrode pattern at the other side are connected by a conductive wire 2. Fluorescent materials 3 are arranged on an upper face and a side face of the light emitting element 6. The fluorescent materials 3 converts a wavelength of the primary light emitted from the light emitting element to secondary light in a visible light spectral region with the wavelength converted.
