PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for exchanging a damaged blade of a rotor assembly with an integrated blade for a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: This is the method for exchanging the damaged blade 12A of the rotor assembly 10 with the integrated blade having a circular plate 14 and a plurality of blades 12 extending outwardly from the circular plate 14 and the method has a step to remove the damaged blade 12A so that a short column 16 of the blade projected from the circular plate could stay in, a step of depositing a collar 22 around the short column 16 of the blade in a physically separated place from the circular plate 14, a step of fixing a spare blade 12B to the short column 16 through the linear friction welding, and a step of removing the collar 22 in order to exchange the damaged blade of the rotor assembly.
