PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium whose size change due to humidity change is small and can cope with higher recording density. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium, a magnetic layer containing magnetic powder and binder resin is arranged on at least one of the surfaces of nonmagnetic support. The nonmagnetic support consists of three layers or four layers or more, and the layers except the surface layer is constituted with thermoplastic resin where contained amount of polar radical is below 1 mol%.
