PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive displacement gauge capable of measuring a displacement of an optional stroke from a small stroke to a large stroke. SOLUTION: Two segments 2A, 2B having respectively an approximately circular cone-shaped flat coil spring shape are connected in series, to thereby form this displacement gauge 1 having a hourglass-shaped flat coil spring shape. Strain gauges 7a, 7b are stuck on either segment 2A or 2B. Each segment 2A, 2B is formed to have the approximately circular cone-shaped flat coil spring shape by notching spirally a rectangular metal plate 3 having a prescribed thickness to thereby cut out a ribbon 6 having the prescribed thickness, and by separating its tip part 6a from a substrate part 5 mutually in the rectangular direction to the surface of the metal plate 3.
