PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having high polymerization reactivity, capable of being crosslinked by copolymerization, providing a polymer capable of self-cleaning the surface or easily being cleaned even when a pollutant such as a combustion product such as carbon black and oil components contained in exhaust gas by the high hydrophilicity possessed by the obtained polymer, and useful as a stainproof material, antifogging material and antistatic material; and to provide the polymer of the compound. SOLUTION: The compound is represented by general formula (1), and has one or more thioether bonds, one or more hydroxy groups and one or more (meth)acryloyl groups in the molecule.
