PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction type paper feeding device, in which paper is securely separated and supplied sheet by sheet by preventing the next paper from moving to the downstream side, being pulled by the current paper. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device 1 comprises a paper storage part 10 on which paper P is stacked on a base 12. On the downstream side of the feeding direction of the paper storage part 10, an air blow separation device 20 to assist separation of the paper P is disposed. Above the part, a suction feeding mechanism 30 is disposed to suck and feed the paper. At an upstream part of the uppermost layer of the paper P, a paper holding roller 40 to feed the paper P to the upstream side is provided. The current paper P1 separated from a paper bundle by the air blow separation device 20 is fed by the suction feeding mechanism 30. When the next paper P2 gets in contact with the paper holding roller 40, the paper holding roller 40 feeds the next paper P2 to the upstream side, and the next paper P2 is applied to an upstream end of the paper storage part 10 to be held.
